23 CNMI students join Saipan-Japan Exchange Program
The Youth Services Division under the Saipan Mayor’s Office has coordinated a trip to Japan by Northern Marianas students under the Student Cultural Exchange program between March 10 and 16, 2000.
Twenty-three students from CNMI public and private schools between the ages of 13 and 18 participated in the program.
The group of students will be headed to Nagoya where they will be met with officials of Japan Student Exchange (SANPO-EN) and will proceed from there to Nagano Prefecture .
The students are scheduled to visit numerous landmarks and temples in Nagano. They will also travel to Kyoto, Kameoka and Sonobe where they will be met with the Mayors of the respective cities.
The participating students are; Ramon Muna, David Apatang, Absinthe Algaier, Devin Yoshimoto, Raymond Camacho, Ho Seo, Noby Crisostomo, Nataya Camacho, Mabel Ayuyu, Ana Hofschneider, Anneka Hofschneider, Jovina Benavente, Roland Salas, Antonio Muna, Deniece Santos, Christine Mesta, Ariolene Arriola, Ignacio Benavente, Leolanie
Benavente, Patrick Tudela, John Tudela, Su Yeon Ju and Kanani Sablan.
The group of students are from Calvary, Hopwood Jr. High and Marianas Baptist Academy, Marianas High School, Mt. Carmel School and Seventh Day Adventist. The students will be escorted by Ms. Davina Manibusan and Mr. Edward Calvo with the participation of Mrs. Janice A. Sablan as the official representative for the Mayor.
