Saipan – Representatives from the KFC, McDonald’s and Jollibee restaurants of Saipan gathered at the CNMI Governor’s Developmental Disabilities Council office recently to receive a total of 300 free coloring books courtesy of the Council.

These aren’t just any ordinary coloring books. The coloring books, entitled “Everyone is Special!”, shows pictures of children with disabilities.

According to Council Executive Director Thomas J. Camacho, the coloring books are actually designed for children without disabilities. The idea is to recognize the potential and promote acceptance of children or persons with disabilities.

Many thanks are extended to KFC assistant manager Damien Misech, McDonald’s accountant Marissa Obtinalla and Jollibee Manager Butch Sigua for their support and participation in making the event possible. One hundred coloring books were also provided to Wendy’s Restaurant.

This is a Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month activity sponsored by the Council and funded by the Federal Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act.
