Sixteen Aikido students from Chiyoda-Ku Aikikai from Tokyo are visiting Saipan this weekend. The group is led by two 7th degree black belts, Mr. Ohyama and Mr. Yamashima.

Besides them, most of the students hold 6th, 5th, 4th and 3rd degree black belts. The group’s leader, Mr. Yamashima, has been a friend of Ms. Minegishi, chief instructor of Saipan Aikikai, for almost 30 years since she first started her Aikido training at the headquarters in Tokyo.

Since Aikido does not have any competitions, students practice with the members of Saipan Aikikai and develop friendship with each other. All the classes are open to the public to observe free of charge.
