Saipan pugs were too much for Tinian after three boxers from the island defeated their counterparts in exhibition games Saturday night at Garapan Central Park.

Enrique Naputi of Saipan showed some skills to take the decision against Tinian’s Tony Cruz in the 120 lbs. category.

During the second fight of the evening, Saipan’s Morito Asahi gave jabs and right crosses to earn points over Lorne Mundo of Tinian.

In the 140-pound weight class, the fight between Peter Castro of Saipan and Joey Adriano of Tinian was a difficult one as both tried to cling to each other throughout the match. However, Castro was declared winner in a close decision.

In another match, two Saipan Boxing Club members, Lucas Perez and Gerald Naputi slugged it out in the fourth game. Lucas was too much for Naputi as officials stopped the fight in the second round and declared Lucas the winner.

The next two bouts were exhibition games between Alexie Trachenko and Alaric Mohammad and junior boxers Danilo Bumacad and Jamie Cuellar.
