Candlelight Vigil

In observance of the Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the Family Violence Task Force is inviting the public to attend the 6th Annual Candlelight Vigil to pay tribute to the courage and strength of those who have survived and those who continue to survive abuse.

The Candlelight Vigil will be held on October 27, 6 pm at the American Memorial Park.

Our House

The Mt. Carmel School Drama Club and Karidat proudly present “Our House” a play which tackles domestic violence. The three live performances will be held at the Charlie’s Cabaret Pacific Islands Club: October 19, 6:30 pm for $25 including dinner buffet and show; October 20 and 21 at 6:30 pm, ticket cost $5.00 per person.

Tickets are available at Karidat (234-5248), the Family Violence Task Force office (664-4583-84) or Mt. Carmel (234-6184). Proceeds will go to the victims of domestic violence.

Call for artwork

The Commonwealth Council for Arts and Culture is preparing for its annual Island Artists Exhibit slated for October 20 to November 17, 2000 at the CM Gallery for Arts and Culture in Capitol Hill.

The exhibit continues to boast the largest display of contemporary, visual, and traditional crafts created by artists residing in the Marianas.

The Council will start accepting work for this exhibit on Tuesday, October 10, through Monday, October 16 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There is no set limit of artwork for submission and participation is free. Registration forms are now available for artists to pick up.
