As the Chalan Kanoa Electrical project nears completion, the Community Utilities Corporation advised electricity in certain areas in Chalan Kanoa will be disrupted on Saturday, between 8:00am and 5:00pm.

CUC explained that the power outage would have to be resorted to due to hazardous nature of the Chalan Kanoa project. CUC said members of the crew cannot touch the higher voltage wires when energized.

In order for them to string the new, stronger and bigger wires on all of the power poles that were recently installed, CUC said electricity will be turned off during the project-most of Saturday.

CUC will, however, isolate the construction within certain areas in Chalan Kanoa.

The project site will run throughout the road adjacent to the original Joeten store and the William S. Reyes Elementary School, as well as, the areas surrounding Maxim Market and the PM Building.

Customers in Chalan Kanoa should expect power outages on every Saturday until mid February or when the Utility completes the entire project.
