RGA Sports Ben “Tofila” bags January championship title
Finding the short grass was the key for Ben Guerrero’s game during the RGA January Ace Tournament. After experiencing some tough situations during the January qualifying which continues to the first nine holes of January Ace Tournament, Guerrero came back strong in the last nine holes.
Having the luxury to adjust after spraying his shots all over Laolao West front nine 14 strokes over par, Guerrero settle down in the way to the January title with a net 67 for the win.
Sonny Flores was 2 strokes off the grass the hole #9 and the unforgiven hole #15. January top qualifier Bill Kaipat completed his second tournament of the year with a tie at 2 under par net 70 with Jess Wabol. Wabol played the last 3 holes with 4 under finishing with an eagle, birdie, birdie.
Commonwealth Utilities Corporation Club champion Ben “Tee me up in the fairways” Norita closed up the top 5 finishers with questionable net 71 which earn him the loudest cheers.
RGA Board of Directors will be meeting to entertain a protest by Bill Limes on two infractions by Norita. Norita was caught using tees in the fairways on hole #5 and conversion from sand wedge to hand wedge on hole #14.
For the accuracy department Ben Guerrero was the winner for hole #3 and Jess Aldan on hole #13. All winners received cash prizes for their efforts.
