Rape cases flood local courts
A 40-year-old man has been charged with four counts of kidnapping, attempted rape, assault and battery, and false arrest before the Superior Court for allegedly committing the said crimes last October 2, 2000.
Defendant Seremea Isy Nowell has been summoned to appear in court on Feb. 26, 9 am.
According to court documents, the suspect allegedly confined his victim for a certain period of time with the intent to rape her.
Further, Mr. Nowell reportedly committed an overt act by grabbing the victim and covering her mouth to prevent her from screaming.
After, the defendant also allegedly touched the victim’s vagina in an attempt to engage in a sexual intercourse without her consent.
Meanwhile, another rape case has been filed before the Superior Court, this time involving a 23-year-old suspect.
Lucas Taitano Manglona faces three counts of attempted rape, assault and battery, and burglary for allegedly causing bodily abuse to victim, YNL.
Court papers reveal that Mr. Manglona allegedly choked and forced YNL to bed and pulled her pants down last December 20, 2000.
He also allegedly entered the victim’s private dwellings with the intention of committing rape.
Mr. Manglona is set to appear in court on Feb. 26 at 9am.
As this developed, a 33-year-old Saipan resident has been summoned to court for allegations of harming another individual last September 18, 2000.
The victim, Shafiqul Islam, allegedly received a beating from the suspect, Sol Hernando.
Mr. Hernando is being charged with two counts of assault and battery and disturbing the peace.
He has been ordered to appear in court on Feb. 26, at 9am. (MM)
