The local government has filed a criminal suit against a Commonwealth Utilities Corporation employee for allegedly assaulting a police officer last January 23, 2001.

Defendant Alfredo E. Alcantara from Dandan faces before the Superior Court four counts of assault and battery, disturbing the peace, resisting arrest, and obstruction of justice.

According to court documents, the 65-year-old man unlawfully caused bodily harm and disturbance to a police sergeant and another lady which led to his arrest.

While authorities were conducting his arrest, however, the suspect refused to cooperate and allegedly attempted to resist in the discharge of a law enforcer’s duties.

Mr. Alacantara is scheduled to appear in court on March 12, 2001.
