Northwest Airlines to hold golf tourney

Northwest Airlines will sponsor the NWA Invitational Golf Tournament on June 13 at the Lao Lao Bay Resort Club west golf course.

The carrier said proceeds from the golf tournament would be used to pay for Northwest Airlines’ 60th anniversary Liberation Day celebrations.

“We invite all golfers to join us in an exciting, fun-filled golf outing and support our efforts to raise funds for the anniversary of our liberation,” said tournament coordinator Ben Babauta.

Showtime for the event will be at 11am and shotgun start is schedule at 12noon.

Babauta said organizers would be using an 18-hole, four-player scramble, Double Peoria format for the tournament.

Cash prizes will be given away in the tournament. Northwest Airlines tickets, a variety of giveaways and many other great prizes will be raffled off during the awards banquet set the evening of the tournament from 7pm to 9pm.
