Action heats up in 14-and-under caging

69ers and Sixers kept pace with undefeated Garapan Rollers I in the 2004 Island-wide Village Youth Basketball League this week.
In Thursday’s game at the Koblerville court, 69ers got 23 points from Preston Basa as the Afetnas team routed G-Rollers II 64-31.
Jake Sablan backed up Sablan’s effort with 12 points, while Neit Mateo paced G-Rollers with 10 markers.
Sixers, meanwhile limited Spiders to a lowly 4 points in the opening quarter and went on to win 45-28 at the Garapan court.
Mike Eclevia and Jason Bahillo scored 18 and 13 points to lead Sixers, while Jon Aldan registered 8 points for Spiders.
In other games earlier this week, Kings mauled Blaze II, 94-32, last Tuesday at the Chalan Kanoa court and Sparks tormented Koblerville to the tune of 39-20 at the Garapan court.
Last week, Spiders and 69ers scored contrasting wins. Spiders nosed out Blaze II, 44-42, during a make-up game Friday. 69ers, on the other hand, whipped Local Boys, 58-32, at the Koblerville court Thursday.
