Taekwondo camp this summer
The Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium Taekwondo Club will be hosting a Taekwondo Summer Camp this June and July.
The Taekwondo Summer Camp is an introductory course for martial arts beginners. Classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30pm until 6pm starting June 1 and will end July 29. For more information, contact master Ron Loctao at 288-5128.
CFL Pepsi Chiefs set meeting
The Pepsi Chiefs of the Commonwealth Football League will be holding a team meeting Thursday, June 3, on the beach behind the Aquarius Beach Tower at 6pm in Chalan Kanoa. The newest team of gridiron warriors will have their first practice on Monday, June 7.

Marianas Softball Cup comes back
The 2nd Annual Miller Lite Marianas Softball Cup kicks off on June 4 with teams slugging it our for the $500 first-place cash prize and the honor of representing the Saipan in the final tournament featuring champion teams from Guam, Tinian and Rota.
The teams will be limited to a maximum of 15 players and a female must be on the field at all times in the modified coed tourney.
In addition, there will also be a tournament meeting next Tuesday, June 1, to be held in the conference room of the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium.

Summer Camp returns to Hyatt
Camp Hyatt returns this June 7 and will be offering children from ages 4 to 12 years old tons of fun and enjoyment for the following nine weeks of summer.
Camp will run every week Monday through Friday from 9am to 3pm daily with extended care available from 3pm to 5pm for an additional $5 an hour. Prices for camp this summer are $30 for one day, $100 for one week, or $175 for one session
This price includes lunch but kids are encouraged to bring snacks from home. Some daily activities are swimming, a variety of sports and games, and arts and crafts.

Swim lessons up
The Saipan Swim Club will once again attempt to make swimmers of land-lovers.
Starting on June 7 through 18, the SSC will conduct swim lessons from 7:30am to 8:30am at the Kan Pacific Swimming Pool in Marpi.

Rotary caging starts June 11
The 2004 Rotary Club of Saipan Summer Youth Basketball League unfolds at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium this June 11.
The Division of Sports and Recreation said that the deadline for entries is on June 17 at 12pm. Entries must include team rosters, players’ proof of age, completed waiver forms, and $5 membership fee. Team must also shell out $20 for team insurance payable to AON Insurance.
The Rotary basketball league is open for 18-and-under players. The cut-off date for players going on 19 years old is September 30 of this year.

Northwest Airlines to hold golf tourney
Northwest Airlines will sponsor the NWA Invitational Golf Tournament on June 13 at the Lao Lao Bay Resort Club west course.
Showtime for the event will be at 11am and shotgun start is schedule at 12 noon.
Organizers would be using an 18-hole, four-player scramble, Double Peoria format for the tournament and cash prizes will be given away in the tournament. Entry fee is $100.

106th RP Independence golf tourney set
The Fil-Taga Golfers Association will host the Philippine Independence Day Golf Tournament on June 13 at the Coral Ocean Point Resort golf course.
Tournament fee is $100, which is inclusive of green fee and invitation to a dinner banquet at the COP poolside on the evening. Showtime for the Philippine Independence Day Golf Tournament is scheduled at 10:30am.
Deadline for submission of entries is on June 10. Payment should be coursed through Express Tour & Travel Agency, located at the Paradise Hotel, 1st floor, Middle Road, in front of Commonwealth Health Center in Garapan, or call 233-9775.
Silver Streak strikes again
The 11th Annual Tom Picarro Memorial Fun Run will be held Saturday, June 19, at 6am.
The 4.2-mile run is in memory of the former president of DFS Saipan and avid runner, P. Thomas Picarro.
There will be a $5 registration fee, and all of the proceeds will be given to a local charity. There will be several age divisions and prizes will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place as well as first place over all men and woman. T-shirts will be given to the first 175 finishers.
