The Northern Mariana Islands Tennis Association and the Oceania Tennis Federation will host a children’s tennis clinic for beginners at the American Memorial Park tennis courts.

The clinics start today, June 4, and will continue the next three days before wrapping up on Tuesday, June 8.

No less than OTF development officer Lency Tenai will be conducting the tennis clinics.

Tenai starred on the Pacific Oceania Davis Cup team from 1995 to 2001 and is a Micronesian Games and South Pacific Games gold medalist. He currently travels throughout the Pacific islands teaching tennis to young people.

The clinics will be held from 3pm to 4pm for children 13-18 years of age and from 4pm to 5pm for children aged 7-12.

NMITA said the clinics are specifically for those who have had no previous formal tennis training but are looking for an introduction to the game of tennis.
