Saipan to host baseball game with USS Vincennes

Attention all baseball players, Saipan needs you to volunteer your cleats, bats, and gloves for service in a battle against the service. In less than two weeks, Saipan will be fielding a baseball team to participate in a pair of games against the USS Vincennes at the Francisco M. Palacios baseball field when they pull into port, and anyone interested is invited to participate.

On Friday, August 20 and Saturday, August 21, representatives from Saipan and the U.S. Navy will get together to enjoy a couple of rounds of hardball on the diamond of diamonds in the Northern Marianas.

The manager of the Saipan Major League champion Brewers, Tony Rogolifoi will be putting together a team made up of players who express their interest in sinking the Navy in the goodwill games, so players should act fast.

First pitch will be thrown at 6:30pm, and with all of the talented players on island, it should definitely be an enjoyable time for anyone who enjoys baseball and barbeque.

All interested players need to contact Tony Rogolifoi st the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium before Monday, August 16 by calling 664-2508 or 664-2503.
