KES PTSA OFFICERS MEETING TODAY

OES PTSA MEETING TODAY

The acting principal of Oleai Elementary School would like to inform the parents and guardians of Oleai Elementary School that the Parents Teachers Students Association meeting will be held today, Oct. 12, 2004, 6pm in the school cafeteria. Everyone is encouraged to attend.

GTC PTA MEETING TOMORROW

GTC Elementary School PTA president Candido Taman would like to remind all parents and guardians whose children attend GTC Elementary School that we will be holding our PTA meeting tomorrow Oct. 13, at 6:30pm. Important information will be shared with parents and guardians.

1st Quarter Report Cards will be distributed on Friday, Oct. 15, 2004, at 2:30-4:30pm. If you are unable to meet your child’s teachers, call the office and make an appointment for a time of your convenience.

FRG LEADERS MEETING TOMORROW

KAGES PTA MEETING TOMORROW

SINAPALO ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PTA MEETING TOMORROW

The monthly Parents Teachers Association meeting at Sinapalo Elementary School will be held tomorrow, Oct. 13, 2004, at 5:30pm at the school’s cafeteria.

The 1st quarter Parent Teacher Conference will be on Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004 from 4:30pm-6:30pm.

VETERANS DAY MEETING ON THURSDAY

We would like to remind and invite all concerned and interested parties that the Office of the Military and Veterans Affairs will meet starting Oct. 14, 2004 at 3pm for the upcoming Veterans Day celebration. Meetings will be held every Thursday at 3pm at the Office of the Military and Veterans Affairs on Capital Hill, Bldg. #1364. All are welcome. TEST TO ENTER US ARMY SET

The United States Army will hold two Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery—ASVAB—tests this month as part of recruiting interested individuals to the armed forces.

According to U.S. Army recruiter SFC. Albert Abadam, the first test will be conducted on Oct. 22 at 4pm while another will be conducted the following day beginning at 8am. Both will be held at the U.S. Army Reserve Center on Puerto Rico.

Interested individuals between the ages of 17 and 34 years are urged to take the test. Those eligible must be citizens of the U.S., Federated States of Micronesia, Palau, or is a permanent resident. A photo identification card is required prior to the tests.

SABLAN IS SOLE LICENSED BINGO OPERATOR

This is to inform all residents of Saipan that Pedro “Roy” Castro Sablan has been awarded and is the only licensed operator of Bingo games within the Municipality of Saipan.

Any and all unlicensed Bingo game operators within the Municipality of Saipan unauthorized by Sablan must cease all bingo operations effective immediately.

CHUUKESE ELECTIONS IN OCTOBER

This is to inform all Chuukese who are eligible voters in the CNMI that there will be a special election this coming Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004, from 7am to 7pm, at the Garapan Central Park (Round House). Contact your regional leaders for more information.

PALAU VOTERS IN NMI URGED TO CAST VOTES

All Palauans who are registered voters in the Republic of Palau and are currently residing in the CNMI are encouraged to participate in their country’s presidential election on Nov. 2, 2004.

Voters who requested absentee ballots for the primary will automatically receive ballots for the general election. For those who did not request the primary election’s absentee ballots may request their absentee ballots for the general election at the consulate. However, if the polling boxes going abroad is granted, then the general election for Saipan will be held on Oct. 30, 2004 and the venue will be announced later on before the general election.

HOUSE OF MANHOBEN OPENS REGISTRATION

The House of Manhoben Center is open for registration in the following areas: tutoring, mentoring and other sports team areas. Children from ages 5 to 18 who may need assistance with their school work, guidance or who doesn’t have the chance to participate in sports team at school are encouraged to participate.

Registration days and time are from Monday-Friday 2:30pm-5:30pm at the House of Manhoben Center in Chalan Kanoa. Parents or guardians are asked to provide prove of birth (birth certificate/passport) upon registering their child(ren).

OPA WORKSHOP RESET

The Office of the Public Auditor would like to announce that the Government Accounting Training Workshop scheduled for Sept. 29 through Oct. 1, 2004, has been postponed.

The new schedule for the workshop will be Oct. 18 through 20, 2004. OPA will contact all participants and provide notice of venue.

ADA TRAININGS POSTPONED

The scheduled Americans with Disabilities Act trainings for Sept. 27 and 29 at the World Resort Hotel has been postponed to Nov. 2 and 3. Organizers of the trainings, called “Symposium: Independence Day for People with Disabilities,” apologized for the short notice and thanked everyone for their patience

REV & TAX REMINDS OF THE NEW AMNESTY PROGRAM

The Division of Revenue and Taxation is informing taxpayers that special return forms are now available for delinquent taxpayers who would like to avail of the amnesty period.

Taxpayers who need assistance on delinquent tax payments should contact collection and remittance branch manager Lisa A. Aldan at 664-1065/664-1067. Taxpayers who need assistance to file a special tax return should contact compliance branch manager Piding B. Camacho at 664-1043/664-1040.
