The XTERRA Lifestyle Sports Institute is operated as a think tank to study, debate, and share the latest developments in the $60-billion lifestyle sports industry.

The XTERRA Lifestyle Sports Institute, an annual conference, is sponsored by Team Unlimited and was held in Maui, Hawaii from Oct. 20 to 23.

Through the CNMI’s sponsorship of the XTERRA Saipan Championship, the Marianas Visitors Authority was represented by MVA board director Yoichi Matsumura, managing director Vicky Benavente, and community programs specialist, Frank Tudela.

The four-day program provided the various sponsors of the fastest-growing multi-sport event in the world with marketing presentations and public relations opportunities from locations where XTERRA events are held.

Team Unlimited is a Hawaii based lifestyles sports marketing company, founded in 1988. It owns and produces XTERRA, the popular off-road multi-sport brand, in addition to numerous lifestyle sports television productions.

Invitees to the conference enjoyed a powerful association with a globally recognized and highly respected association, while broadening their marketing and advertising options through power networking.

The XTERRA Saipan Championship event is part of the XTERRA Global Tour, which also holds events in the U.S., Australia, New Holland, and the Czech Republic.

Top-ranking athletes from these national championships are invited to compete with athletes who qualified in the US series at the Nissan Xterra World Championship held each October in Wailea, Maui. The XTERRA Saipan Championship will be held in April of 2005.
