SBS targets the family market in Korea
The Seoul Broadcasting System has chosen the Marianas once again for their upcoming special segment on the popular Korean talk show, Good Morning with Mr. Kim Seung Hyun and Ms. Jeong Eun Ah.
The production crew was on Saipan from Nov. 28 through Dec. 1, 2004.
The Saipan feature is a special segment focused on one of Korea’s famous talents, Ms. Park Eun Hye and her family’s recent vacation with her family in Saipan, in turn marketing the Marianas as the destination of choice for the family market in Korea.
SBS’ Morning Talk Show is very popular among Korean housewives, age 30 – 40.
“With the latest statistics showing a decrease of visitors from the Korean market to the Northern Marianas, we welcome SBS’ shoot here in the CNMI to create the needed exposure to Korean viewers, most especially directed to the family market. As we have seen a decline in the honeymoon market, we would like to focus on the family market and stimulate this particular market to travel to the CNMI,” said MVA managing director Vicky Benavente.
The special segment, with a valued exposure of almost $70,000, is scheduled to air nationwide sometime in December 2004. The media visit was made possible with the support and assistance of Asiana Airlines, Dai-Ichi Hotel Saipan Beach, and the Korean Tour Association of Saipan.
