A sorry experience with an officer
To Mr. Roger Ludwick, I had almost the same experience with officer Rabago. On Jan. 23, 2005, I was pulled over by officer Rabago on Highway 16. He claimed that I was going 57 on a 40mph zone. He asked me for my driver’s license and registration. After five minutes he came back and asked me how old I was. Upon further review of my citation, I saw that my race is U.S. I’ve never heard of that race before. We have Caucasian, African-American, Hispanic Chinese, Korean, but not U.S.
I met first met officer Rabago at the 18th cycle Police Academy where we were both police cadets. I was the class commander in charge of 23 cadets, one of them was Mr. Rabago. He was assigned by the drill instructor to be a squad leader. However, after seeing his attitude, his performance and lack of respect toward the other police cadets, he was demoted from that position. Mr. Rabago graduated from the academy as a school resource officer, meaning he was going to be assigned to PSS. The thing is, to be in the traffic section you have to graduate in the Top 5 of the class.
My court date is coming soon and I’m planning to fight this citation because that statement on his citation where it says “race” and a police officer writes U.S. should send a red flag to his superior that this officer should not be patrolling the streets. No, I’m not a cop, I did not meet their criteria. Thank God.
