The Saipan Pacific Winds band will be holding its 11th annual spring concert—a musically exhilarating lineup of Broadway, movie soundtracks, classical, jazz, and even something from the ‘70s—this Saturday, April 30.

The CNMI’s sole community concert band is inviting the island community to their concert, which will get underway at 6:30pm at Charley’s Cabaret in the Pacific Islands Club resort.

Tickets are just $5 for general admission, with students and seniors paying only $3. Children 5 years and under are free!

Food and beverages will be available throughout the concert for a nominal additional charge.

Under the direction of William DeWitt and Christina Nierras, the band will perform a repertoire that is diverse, challenging, and entertaining for the entire family.

Listeners can expect to hear music from E.T., Harry Potter, and Indiana Jones. Selections from the musicals Chicago and Hairspray will be performed. A musical tribute to Duke Ellington in the form of a medley of his best-loved tunes will be played. Classical music lovers will enjoy a wind ensemble arrangement of Samuel Barber’s Adagio for Strings.

“Many more songs will elevate your spirit Saturday evening, so come early to get preferred seating and bring the entire family.

“A non-profit performing arts organization, the Pacific Winds band wishes to share excellent wind and percussion music with our local audience and encourage increased support for the arts in our community,” the band said in a statement.

Tickets are limited, so reserve one now by calling Will DeWitt at 235-1087. Tickets will be sold at the door until full capacity is reached. (PR)
