HAGATNA, Guam—Bank of Guam’s Ifit Team broke all previous team records, raising $24,406 and winning first place in the annual American Cancer Society Relay for Life signature fundraising event for 2005.

The Bank’s employee teams at headquarters and in the branches set the pace, issuing challenges for groups throughout the bank to join the fight against cancer.

Winning first place among the HQ departments was Team Napu ($5,541.01) who outpaced Team Sixers ($5,154.55) in the race to raise the most funds for cancer research. Andersen Air Force Base Branch bested all branches, raising $1,492.30.

“We are deeply grateful for the effort shown by the employee groups who organized many fundraising activities” said Bank of Guam Relay for Life captain Elaine Lizama. “For two teams to raise over $10,000 was an incredible endeavor. The Bank of Guam thanks all of our employees for participating at the Relay, as well as for their generosity and sacrifice in setting a record for Relay for Life!”
