To Gov. Juan Babauta and Dr. Rita Inos:

First impressions are always important and I believe the CNMI has a unique opportunity to give a favorable first impression to the emperor of Japan and his wife when they visit our island of Saipan later this month.

I know the positive and warm welcome the emperor would feel if we have our children and parents lining Airport Road waving flags as they drive by. It would be the most visible way for us to show them that our community cares that he chose to visit Saipan and would make a lasting impression and memory on the imperial couple.

Schools could organize students and have them make flags (Japan, USA, CNMI). With the large number of Japanese media visiting, I am confident that it would be a great documentary opportunity that provides a favorable and a memorable image of our islands to the people in Japan.
