Dads take center stage at Aqua Resort
More than 300 guests showed up at the newly renovated Aqua Resort Club to honor the pillars of their homes in the occasion of Father’s Day last Sunday.
The Achugao hotel provided a special lunch buffet to the families in attendance, highlighted by a two-hour show that featured island-style song and dance numbers by the Inatuas Dance Troupe and song numbers by Aqua Resort’s human resources manager Jack Quitugua, who serenaded the fathers and their families with local and Tagalog novelty songs.
Sales and marketing manager Dorina Gabutero said the hotel came up with the event due to the success of the Secretary’s Day and the Mother’s Day celebrations a couple of months ago.
She said that, although the hotel annually celebrates Father’s Day, it was the first time Aqua Resort prepared entertainment to celebrate the occasion.
General manager Ramon C. Cabrera welcomed the guests and thanked them for celebrating the big day in the hotel with their loved ones.
Power 99’s DJ Big Boy served as the master of ceremonies. The celebration also gave a chance for members of the man’amko to strut their stuff on stage clad in their usual colorful get-ups.
The Inatuas Dance Troupe, composed of at least 38 dancers with ages ranging from four to 18 years old, put on a series of dance numbers, which included an interactive dance portion with the dine-in audience.
The group grabbed the hands of the “star” of the day, the fathers, and did not even spare Rep. Benjamin Seman, who did not mind coming up on stage and dancing, together with other fathers from the audience.
Several local government and private sector officials attended the celebration. The event gave away raffle prizes courtesy of Pacific Trading Co., YCO Do-It-Best and Aqua Resort Club. Other sponsors for the event were Triple J Motors, PC Computer Outlet and Harley Davidson. Triple J Motors had one car displayed near the valet parking sign of the hotel while PC Computer Outlet had computer gadget displays in the lobby together with Harley Davidson, which had its motorcycles on display at the lobby.
