The Marianas Visitors Authority and its board of directors are reminding all MVA members of the bi-annual membership meeting scheduled for June 23, 2005 at 11:30am, at the Dai-Ichi Hibiscus Hall.

Although the CNMI has been faced with challenges in the tourism industry, the MVA said it and its members must continue to work together to share ideas and concerns that affect the islands.

“With the pending announcement of Japan Airlines suspending services to Saipan, this recent turn of events will affect the CNMI community as a whole,” the agency said.

The MVA and its members said they wish to increase investment in current airlines servicing the CNMI, and join with other major agents to give airlines assurance that they need to bring in larger aircrafts to launch new routes. The MVA will provide an update on its plans regarding this announcement; in addition, the board will be presenting updates on tourist sites, PR and Advertising, and Policy and Legislative Affairs.
