The Commonwealth Ports Authority board of directors has reinstated Antonio Camacho as vice chair.

The board members unanimously voted to retain Camacho in the position he had held prior to the June 15, 2005 expiration of his previous term. The Senate confirmed Camacho’s re-appointment on June 30. He will sit on the CPA board for four more years.

“Thank you for your confidence in me,” Camacho told his fellow board members at a board meeting Friday.

Camacho owns Westpac, a freight forwarding company and a licensed agent of Horizon Lines. He is one of the longest-serving CPA board members.

The seven-member CPA panel remains with one vacancy; former CPA director Connie Igisomar has yet to be replaced.

The CPA board is chaired by businessman Jose R. Lifoifoi. The other CPA directors are Saipan’s Benigno T. Fejeran and Barbara A. Yamada, Rota’s Prudencio T. Manglona, and Tinian’s Serafin M. Dela Cruz.
