The Saipan Golf Association is following the parade of duffers taking advantage of the nice weather from the fairways to the greens this weekend by holding its August Ace of the Month.

According to SGA president Larry Guerrero, some of the island’s top strikers will be on hand this Sunday, August 21, at Coral Ocean Point Golf Resort to vie for the low score and the SGA’s top billing.

Last month, Joe Demapan carded a net score of 69 to win the SGA’s July Ace of the Month Tournament by shooting a 39 in the front nine and 40 in the back for a gross score of 79. His 10-handicap was the difference on the Kingfisher Golf Links, but this month’s title is up for grabs. The only difference is that there will be fewer hands doing the grabbing as the tournament is limited to the first 28 players who confirm their entries with SGA organizers.

The show time for the outing is 7:45am with an 8:15am Tee-time.
