Few people in the CNMI catch more air than the high-flying adrenaline junkies of the Marianas Racing Association, and the riders will get their monthly fix this weekend as they saddle up for the last monthly points race at the Cowtown Raceway in 2005.

The madness in Marpi continues as best and brightest riders of the CNMI will duel in the dirt for points and places atop their ATVs and dirt bikes this Sunday, Dec. 11, beginning at 11:30am. There will be an afternoon session following a brief break for food and fuel, but organizers plan to wrap up the day’s events well before sundown.

As always, admission to the MRA series of races is free, and the riders and their supporters welcome everyone to make the journey to the north end for the festivities.

In addition to spectators, the MRA is also hoping to lure some of their recent absentee riders to the track in order to make any final preparations for next month.

Those who haven’t seen the course in a while are in for a surprise, as the newly designed facility has already brought more of the high-flying action that pleased crowds in the 2004 campaign.

MRA officials agree that the changes allow riders to gain more speed and make a lot more jumps for all of the riders.

This weekend’s event include competition in the Big Boys ATVs, the Peewee 50 and Peewee 80, the 65cc, 85cc, 125cc—to include the unrivaled Fast and Furious division, and the Veterans Class for riders aged 30 and over.
