The Saipan Rotary Club’s Las Vegas Night set for this Saturday has been moved to February.

Rotary past president Jeff Schorr said Las Vegas Night would now be held on Feb. 18 from 7pm to 2am at the Aqua Resort Club.

He said the club decided the changes last week. The announcement, he said, is for the Rotarians who missed the meeting last Tuesday at the Hyatt Regency Saipan

Tickets are still sold at $5 each or $20 per booklet of five tickets. Prizes at stake are $500 for 4th Prize, $1,000 for 3rd and 2nd Prize and $2,500 for 1st Prize. The grand prize—a 2006 Hyundai Sonata GL—will be given away during the night of glamour and glitz.

The event will highlight “games of chance” that will be featured, such as the Black Jack, Poker, Roulette, Craps and Bingo.

In related news, the Rotary Club also announced its new set of officers this coming Rotary Year—July 1, 2006 to June 30, 2007. The new list of officers was decided only this week, said Schorr.

Deanna Kelly-Tessen is the next president, while Patrick Calvo is the next president-elect. Associate Judge Juan T. Lizama is the next vice president and Kim Forrester will be the secretary. Mike Brazel will be the new treasurer. Rhoda Smith will be the new community director. Club services director will be Laurie Peterka, while Ben Babauta will remain as vocational director. Incumbent president James Whitt will be the new international director of the Rotary Club.
