An excusable neglect in filing a Labor work permit application has resulted in the imposition of sanctions against an employer.

Labor Administrative Hearing Officer Herbert D. Soll ordered the employer, Felix S. Hofschneider, to pay $200 for the late filing of the application for Concesa J. Baer.

Soll said Baer is eligible to transfer to another employer within 45 days.

If an application is not filed within that period, Baer must leave the CNMI at the expense of her last employer, Hofschneider.

Labor records show that excusable neglect caused Hofschneider to miss the renewal date of the application for his employee. The circumstances led to the denial of Labor application for Baer.

Hofschneider agreed that a sanction is in order. Labor recommended sanction.

Francisco Camacho, a prospective employer, has been waiting to hire Baer.

Soll modified the Labor director’s decision that denied the application. (Ferdie de la Torre)
