Rolls of wirings for Beach Road pathway lights stolen
A company that is repairing the Beach Road pathway discovered that six to seven rolls of electrical wirings for the pathway lights were stolen, police said yesterday.
Department of Public Safety spokesman Ken Concepcion said that police responded to Chalan Laulau Thursday afternoon after they received a call about the missing wirings.
Concepcion said an employee of the Department of Public Works and a staff of the U.S. Fanter company claimed that someone stole rolls of electrical wirings.
The employee of U.S. Fanter told police that their company has been charged with the repair of the pathway and that on Monday they were fixing a section of the pathway across Joeten Motors.
The workers re-cemented the area and waited for days for the cement to dry. When the staff checked the section Saturday, he discovered that the wirings were missing.
In another incident, police arrested one Manuel R. Mesa for disturbing the peace and assault in Koblerville Saturday morning.
Concepcion said it was Mesa’s wife who called the police after the defendant allegedly threw a glass at her sister-in-law and yelled at the tenants of a barracks.
Mesa also allegedly accused his wife of having an affair with someone else. When police responded to the place, he yelled at police personnel.
Police officers decided to arrest him, but he continued yelling at the people outside the barracks.
In other police news, a man was arrested for contempt of court for allegedly going to the house of his former wife Friday night.
Police said Arnold Balbin admitted he was not supposed to be in the house, but he just missed his children.
The victim showed police a court order stating that Balbin should stay away 200 yards away from her.
