Controversial yet fashionable, the Vagina Monologues fashion merchandise—shirts and tank tops are making heads turn 360 degrees all over the island.

At least four designs are printed on the shirts and tanks. Committee head for the merchandise Reina Camacho said the designs are from the design standard of Vagina Monologues head committee office. To put a local flavor on it, the local organizer, Off the Beaten Path, decided to print “Marianas 2006” below the generic design.

Generic designs include “VDay: Until violence stops,” but controversial designs are: “I Cunt Wait for…VDay” and the “Vagina Definitions.”

The apparel were put on sale at both Vagina Monologues performances at the American Memorial Park Visitor Center last weekend but the Off The Beaten Path continue the sell these top-selling merchandise. Black and white T-shirts retail for $15, and ladies black and white tank tops are $18 each.

Over 200 shirts were printed locally for the show’s publicity.

V-Day’s partners continue to create unique products to raise money and awareness toward ending violence against women and girls. V-Day features these products at its online store—www.vday.org/store—and sponsors and partners offer them on their sites and through special promotions.
