Power and water interruption along Santa Lourdes Rd. today
The Commonwealth Utilities Corporation will join forces with the Department of Public Works today to improve the roadway, storm drainage system, and utilities right-of-way along Santa Lourdes Road in As Teo.
At the request of government, CUC will turn off the electricity to the area so DPW’s contractor can work safely with a large crane. The heavy equipment is needed to install concrete box culverts for the drainage system adjacent to the road, right where the electric lines run. The DPW contractor will also divert a watermain, causing a water outage during the construction.
The water and power outages will occur Thursday morning from 8am through 12pm. This affects customers on Santa Lourdes Road at Agag (upper side of the hill), crossing Isa Drive, continuing down through the Santa Lourdes area to Donnie Springs at the Tudela Farm.
The CUC electric crews will take advantage of this outage to move one of the power poles that is currently in the middle of the new road construction and drainage system.
Once contractors have removed the tall crane from under the electric lines, the power will be restored. After the new watermain is created, the Agag water valve will be opened, though it will take a few hours to complete water pressure to return to normal. (PR)
