There will be no water in parts of Kannat Tabla, Finasisu, As Terlaje, Chalan Kiya and Chalan Laulau today due to the scheduled rehabilitation of the Isley Booster 1 pump station.

The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. through its contractor, AIC Marianas, is scheduled to make necessary upgrades to the existing pumping station to allow for better water flow into the new Kannat Tabla reservoir and bring it into compliance with Environmental Protection Agency regulations.

The EPA-funded rehabilitation of the Isley Booster 1 is part of the Kannat Tabla reservoir and waterline project and its goal to pressurize the water system, improve water quantity and quality.

The schedule upgrade works will begin today, April 12, from 8am to 5pm.

Water services to the residents of Kannat Tabla, Finasisu, As Terlaje, Chalan Kiya, and Chalan Laulau areas will be affected during this period. Normal water hours will resume on Sunday.

The CUC offers the following tentative water schedule for the following areas:

Areas Affected Tentative Water Hours

Kannat Tabla 4am to 7:30am

Finasisu 5am to 7:30am

As Terlaje, NMC area 5am to 7:30am

Chalan Kiya No water

Chalan Laulau 5pm to 9pm

Residents are encouraged to practice strict water conservation and to teach children and household workers to save water especially during the period. Rainwater catchment systems/water tanks should be cleaned and float valves installed or replaced to ensure that water does not overflow from any tanks.
