Tournaments abound in Tinian Fiesta

The committee for the 2008 Tinian Fiesta is inviting players and teams from Saipan to join them in four tournaments they have lined up on May 2 and 3 for the Annual Tinian Fiesta Sportsfest.

Tinian Fiesta sports committee chairwoman Prince C. Monkeya said they are offering competitions in men’s and women’s volleyball, softball, and tennis, and men’s basketball.

Deadline to confirm participation in the Tinian Fiesta Sportsfest is on or before April 15, Tuesday.

Monkeya said, accommodations will not be provided and teams or players who will join the said tournaments should provide their own. “I apologize for this but I hope they understand the situation were currently facing with regards to the economic crisis.”

Saipan teams and players still have at least three more weeks to prepare and join its sister island in the celebrations and friendly competition.
