Kannat Tabla reservoir system to be connected this May 24

The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. announces the final pipeline connection of the Kannat Tabla reservoir from the Isley Booster I pump station. The CUC through its contractor, AIC Marianas, is scheduled to make the necessary pipe connection from the pumping station to allow water flow into the new Kannat Tabla reservoir and bring the system a step closer to its completion.

The USEPA funded over $3 million for the Kannat Tabla reservoir and waterline project and its main goal is to pressurize the water system, improve water quantity, and quality to the Kannat Tabla, Finasisu, Chalan Kiya and Chalan Laulau areas.

The scheduled pipeline works will commence on Saturday, May 24, 2008, from 8am to 5pm. Water services to the residents of Kannat Tabla, Finasisu, As Terlaje, Chalan Kiya, and Chalan Laulau areas will be affected during this period. Normal water hours will resume on Sunday.

The CUC offers the following tentative water schedule on May 24th for the following areas:

Chalan Kiya

Chalan Laulau
Tentative Water Hour: 5pm to 9pm

Residents are encouraged to practice strict water conservation and to teach children and household workers to save water especially during this period. Rainwater catchment systems/water tanks should be cleaned and float valves installed or replaced to ensure that water does not overflow from any tanks. [B][I](CUC)[/I][/B]
