CA marks decade of Cairns-Guam service
HAGÅTÑA, Guam—In celebration of its tenth anniversary of service between Guam and Cairns, Australia, Continental Micronesia brought the islands to Down Under on July 6, 2008.
Thirteen representatives from Micronesia’s national travel organizations, hoteliers, and tour organizations joined the Sales and Marketing team of Continental Micronesia to promote travel to the north Pacific oceanic islands. This is the third annual Continental Micronesia Roadshow.
Representatives from Guam, Palau, Yap, and Pohnpei conducted workshops and tabletop presentations to Australia’s travel trade and met with news media during the weeklong roadshow to Cairns, Townsville, and Brisbane.
“By directly meeting with the travel trade and the media, we strengthened travel demand to Micronesia and enhanced our existing relationship with Australia’s travel agency community,” said Continental Micronesia Asia and Micronesia Director for Sales and Marketing David Kendell.
The current schedule from Cairns to Guam operates on Mondays and Fridays. Flight time is approximately 4 hours and 25 minutes utilizing a new generation Boeing 737-800 aircraft. The aircraft seats up to 155 passengers in a two-class cabin, 14 in business and 141 in economy.
