Over 100 members participate in consulate’s training courses
According to the quarterly report of Course Trainings at the Philippine Overseas Labor Office, more than a hundred students have already participated in six classes sponsored by the consulate.
The training courses include Basic Nihongo 2, Basic Baking, Basic Bread Making, Culinary Arts, Basic Computer Operations and Home Décor plus Sewing.
According to the Philippine Consulate General, there were 29 students for the Basic Baking course. The class started on July 6 and ended on Aug. 10, 2008, and was handled by Ofelia Lopez.
The upcoming Basic Bread Making course currently boasts 30 enrollees. The class will start Aug. 17, 2008, ends Sept. 17, 2008, takes place from 9am-12pm and will also be instructed by Ofelia Lopez.
Basic Nihongo 2 started on July 20, 2008, will end on Aug. 31, 2008, is scheduled from 2pm to 5:30pm and will be instructed by Leopoldo “Jun” Rodriguez.
Basic Computer Operations has 40 students. The class started Aug. 10, 2008, will end Sept. 28, 2008, takes place from 1pm to 4pm and will be taught by Jousel Regilme.
The Culinary Arts class started Aug. 10, will end Sept. 14, is scheduled from 2pm to 5pm, and currently has 40 students.
The Home Décor plus Sewing class began Aug. 10, will end Sept. 14, is scheduled from 9am to 12pm, and currently has 31 students.
All classes take place on Sundays, except the Culinary Arts class, which takes place on Saturday.
