Starting today and every Thursday thereafter, the Club V at Saipan Grad Hotel will be transforming itself to offer a different kind of music focusing on island and retro.

Responding to customer suggestions, Club V is now offering a revamped “TGIT.” This time, the acronym means “Thursday Grand Island Tunes,” to be held every Thursday night from 9pm to 1pm.

It will feature reggae, house, and dance hall music, with in-house DJ Jeyrock manning the turntables. There will also be a chance to do the cha-cha and boogie and to shimmy to the retro beat of 80s and 90s pop. Oscar Yema, Saipan Grand’s events manager, said that TGIT will also feature music for ballroom dancing aficionados.

Fernando Ureta, assistant F&B of Saipan Grand, said they opted to do this to give their loyal patrons a chance to relax and unwind at the end of the day. “This is something different and is part of our efforts to keep Club V always fresh,” he added.

The entrance fee is just $5 each, with two complimentary drinks (a beer and a shot). There will also be free chasers (while supplies last).

Ureta said all domestic beers are priced at just $3 each, while other drinks have regular prices.

Events manager Yema said that after tonight’s TGIT, the next four succeeding Thursday will have a pre-event program from 7pm to 10pm featuring the Saipan Singing Superstars series of performances.
