Police have arrested an ex-convict who is the second suspect in the reported beating of a man whom they followed from San Vicente and beat up in front of his house in Chalan Kanoa.

Police picked up ex-convict Roland Martin in San Vicente.

The Superior Court imposed a $3,000 cash bail for Martin’s temporary liberty.

Preliminary hearing was set for Oct. 15 and arraignment for Oct. 20.

The victim, Emmanuel Pamintuan, suffered a cut on the nose, bruising on the face, and swelling on the forehead and right temple.

Responding police officers first arrested one suspect, Martino M. Omelau.

Detective Joaquin Deleon Guerrero stated in his report that the bearing happened last Thursday midnight along Texas Road in Chalan Kanoa.

Police said Pamintuan had just gotten home when another car pulled up into his driveway.

Two men, identified later as Omelau and Martin, got out from the car and told Pamintuan to leave.

The victim told the two that he was on his property and that they should be the ones to leave instead.

The victim said he doesn’t remember what happened next, but that he was hit on the head and face by the two suspects.

In November 2005, Martin pleaded guilty to assault and battery. He was sentenced him to one year in jail, all suspended except for 40 days.

The factual basis of the agreement stated that on July 19, 2005, Martin struck a woman with a metal spoon.
