Clarification on VA policy

This letter is in response to the letter of Oct. 2, 2008, addressing air transportation for veterans who reside in the Northern Marianna Islands. I write this to correct the mistaken statement and assumption in the letter to the editor and to reassure the loyal veterans of the Northern Marianna Islands that there has been no change in VA policy. The support of travel for eligible veterans who reside in the Northern Marianna Islands has not changed. These eligible veterans will continue to be supported for their travel needs that are necessary to support off island care approved by the Veterans Administration. We apologize for any confusion that might have resulted from discussions between the staff of the VA clinic in Guam and any of our patients.
