CREAM to host delegate forum on Sunday
The Coalition for Recognition, Equality and Advancement of American Ethnic Minorities, CREAM, will hold their forum with the candidates for the CNMI delegate on Sunday, Oct. 12, from 5pm to 7pm, at the Multi-Purpose Center in Susupe, Saipan.
The four top vote getters for the U.S. delegate race that were chosen by the members of CREAM during their last mock election process held on Sept.17, 2008, were invited to participate in the forum. The four candidates are Gregorio Kilili Sablan, Pete A. Tenorio, John Oliver Gonzales and Juan T. Lizama.
Various questions and concerns affecting the lives and future of the people of the Commonwealth will be asked from the delegate candidates. The coalition expects meaningful and credible answers from the candidates, which will be the basis for selecting and supporting the best candidate by the group. The best answers satisfactory and in tune with the goals and objectives of the coalition will be the measuring stick for their support and endorsement of the candidate during the election.
Most of the members of the coalition group are U.S. citizens and registered voters in the CNMI. They also include many ethnic minorities and other nationalities with U.S. citizen children that are resident registered voters. Some of the ethnic children are also members of the U.S. Armed Forces that served and deployed in harm’s way in foreign countries.
The coalition is inviting all concerned individuals, ethnic minorities, parents and family members of the U.S. children to attend the forum to show solidarity in this endeavor. (PR)
