Man allegedly hits girlfriend with a bench, bites another
A man allegedly beat up his girlfriend and hit her with a wooden bench then bit another woman who pacified him at a residence in Chalan Kanoa Wednesday midnight.
Isman Bokuku, 23, was detained for assault with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, and disturbing the peace.
The girlfriend suffered a one-inch laceration on the head. She was treated at the Commonwealth Health Center.
The other victim had a bite mark on the left forearm. She refused to be treated.
During yesterday’s hearing, Superior Court associate judge Ramona V. Manglona imposed a $6,000 cash bail for Bokuku’s temporary release. Preliminary hearing was set for Oct. 16 at 9am.
Detective Simon T. Manacop stated in his report that, according to the girlfriend, she was inside her house when Bokuku arrived, confronted her for lying, then allegedly punched her thrice in the face and slapped her. Bokuku then picked up a wooden bench and allegedly hit her in the back of the head.
The second victim said she saw her family members trying to stop Bokuku. When she hugged the defendant to calm him down, he allegedly bit her forearm.
