Fundraising drive for Ballesteros family nets $700

The United Workers Movement turned over on Tuesday a total of $700 donation to the family of murdered Marianas High School security guard Efren Ballesteros

The money was collected from several businesses and individual donors.

UWM president Irene Tantiado said their group handed the donation to Ballesteros’ common-law wife, Adelaida Abella.

Tantiado said a total of $225 went to Ballesteros’ sister, Aida, while the rest went to his two children with Adelaida.

“Our fundraising drive is still going on so those who would like to donate may contact me at 2857717 to arrange for pickup,” Tandiado said.

UWM thanked those who generously donated.

“UWM also acknowledges the great job of Edgar Caras, our director, who led the fundraising drive and Pilipino Contract Workers Association officers and members who also helped in collecting donations,” UWM said.

The following are the list of donors: Luen Fung Ent. ($65), Vicky ($10), Kanai & Russ Quinn ($100), Edgar Caras ($5), Andy ($25), Fiesta Hotel ($20), Robert Potian ($8), Jun PIC ($20), Irma’s Catering ($19), Fiesta Hotel ($66), Tasi Tour-Magie ($31), Edgar Caras, collections from Aqua Resort, PMIC & Western Sales Trading employees through Irene Tantiado ($84), and PILCOWA collections through Ronnie Docca ($239.05).
