Woman walking in Afetnas robbed
An unidentified man robbed a woman who was walking along a road in Afetnas Monday night, the Department of Public Safety said yesterday.
DPS spokesperson Lei Ogumoro said the victim, a 27-year-old Chinese, lost a plastic bag containing clothes, a cell phone and a wallet.
Ogumoro said the victim went to DPS Tuesday afternoon to report the robbery.
Based on the police report, the victim was walking Monday night along the road near the Winners Corp. when the suspect came from behind her and grabbed her plastic bag.
The suspect ran east.
“There was no report of any injuries. This case is under investigation,” Ogumoro said.
In another police report, Ogumoro said an unidentified man grabbed a purse belonging to one of three tourists at a beachside in Garapan last week.
The suspect was described as wearing a dark shirt and a pair of dark short pants.
The DPS spokesperson said that last Friday, three female Japanese tourists were lying on the beach when the suspect came and grabbed a purse.
The report did not mention the contents of the purse.
“There were no reports of any injuries,” Ogumoro said.
Last week, a masked man robbed a 78-year-old man who was sitting outside of his residence in Chalan Kanoa.
