So far so good for Athlete’s Foot Guam
Less than six months after opening The Athlete’s Foot Guam, its master franchisee, Joeten Enterprises Inc., said that things are looking up for the Tamuning outlet.
“It’s going great. Like everything else, it just needs the right promotions and all that stuff. But Guam is a little different than the CNMI. They’re having their own economic recession,” said the company’s corporate special project manager, Bo Palacios.
He added that The Athlete’s Foot Guam is experiencing challenges in the U.S. territory that its older counterparts on Saipan didn’t have to go through.
“We’re the new kids on the block [in Guam]. We’re still learning and we’re going to try some collaborative things out and we hope that our Athlete’s Foot in Guam will be as successful as our Athlete’s Foot on Saipan.”
He added that Guam is a totally different market than the CNMI.
“It really is a very competitive market compared to the CNMI. One of the things that we do with our Athlete’s Foot there is to compete in price with Foot Locker, which isn’t easy to do. But we do have a few advantages… since we’re not in a mall.”
The Athlete’s Foot Guam is located in the Star Building Shopping Center along Marine Corps Drive.
“Like everything, everyone thinks they could do better in business so the Athlete’s Foot Guam is nothing different. But we’re optimistic about it,” said Palacios.
The Athlete’s Foot Guam opened last July 16 and is operating as a performance store, showcasing the latest store design, layout, and merchandise systems.
Joeten Enterprises, Inc. opened its first The Athlete’s Foot on Saipan way back in 1989.
