Baseball games are cancelled for Lent
Organizers have cancelled all games of the Saipan Little League and the Budweiser Saipan Major League this week in the observance of the Lenten season.
The cancellation started Tuesday night even before the scheduled game between the Tanapag Falcons and the IT&E Fielders in the Big League Division.
Also cancelled will be the game tonight between Team Aztecs and D-9ers.
Action in the Big League Division will resume next Tuesday, April 14, with the Hustlers to meet the Fielders.
In the SML, the game last night between D-9ers and Korean Phoenix will be played next week.
This will be the second time a game in the SML is cancelled. The first cancelled game was between Korean Phoenix and the Young Guns last March 23, which will be played Monday.
Both games are the last two games of the first round.
The second round will start on April 17.
Games in the Major, Junior, and Senior divisions of the Saipan Little League will resume on April 18.
Major Division schedules on that day will pit Shell against Ol’Aces at 9am, Century A’s vs. Jets at 11am, As Matuis Twins vs. Dragons at 1pm, and Red Sox vs. IT&E at 3pm.
Games on April 19 will be Tanapag Little Falcons vs. Survivors, Tanapag Braves vs. UMDA Hustlers, and JPO Enforcers vs. Kagman Little Lions.
Games in the Junior Division will also resume on April 18 with the Patriots to face D-9ers at 9am and the Red Sox to take on Kagman Lion Heart at 1pm.
On April 19, Red Sox will battle Ol’Aces at 9am and the Patriots will tangle with the Fielders at 1pm.
In the Senior Division, the Fielders will meet the D-9ers at 11am and the Kagman Lion King and the Ol’Aces will play at 3pm on April 18.
The Fielders will also play against the Lion King at 11am on April 19 and Ol’Aces will try their luck against the virtual pennant winner Jets at 3pm.
