The Patriots swept the Red Sox in three regular season meetings after completing a come-from-behind 5-3 victory last Sunday in the Junior Division of the 2009 Saipan Little League at the Francisco “Tan Ko” Palacios Ballfield.
The Patriots rallied from a 2-4 deficit with a four-hit, three-run performance in the top of the seventh inning on the way to the victory.
Carlos Rabauliman singled and scored on a triple by Jared Sablan, who also scored on a single by Jeremy Rabauliman.
Jeremy Rabauliman then reached home on a single by Brian Camacho for the final run of the game.
Christian Mizer relieved Jeremy Rabauliman in the bottom of the sixth and allowed only two hits and a walk to get the save for the Patriots.
He allowed Justin Borja to get in scoring position before the Patriots nailed their 10th win in 11 outings.
The Red Sox suffered their sixth loss in nine assignments.
With five more playing dates left before the playoff round, the Patriots are three wins away from winning the pennant.
They have four games left in the regular season.
The Patriots will meet Ol’Aces in their next game when the season resumes on April 18.
Baseball games were cancelled this coming weekend to give the players a chance to join the nation in the observance of the Lenten season.
Ol Aces 11, Fielders 4
Ol’Aces also repeated their mastery over the Fielders, 11-4, in the other Junior Division game last April 5.
Frankie Camacho, the current No. 2 in batting average, went 3-for-4 with three runs in the second, fourth, and sixth innings to help Ol’Aces score back-to-back wins as the team kept its tight grip of second place with an 8-2 record.
Ol’Aces spoiled a two-run homerun by Fielders pitcher Patrick Tenorio in the top of the first inning.
After that Camacho retired the next seven batters. In all, he issued three strikeouts, gave up four hits, three runs, and three walks in five innings.
It was the third win for Ol’Aces this season over the Fielders. They also prevailed in their first meeting last Feb. 16 (29-13) and in their second encounter last March 8 (13-1).
