Lei Ogumoro has resigned as information officer of the Department of Public Safety.
Ogumoro told Saipan Tribune that her resignation will take effect on Tuesday, April 14. She said she will be relocating to the U.S. mainland.

“Working for the department and the community has been a wonderful experience. I would like to extend my appreciation to all of you for working alongside DPS as we keep the community safe and informed of public safety-related issues,” she said.

Police Officer Eric David has been appointed Ogumoro’s replacement.

In February 2007, the Fitial administration hired as DPS information officer Ogumoro, who was then a fresh college graduate.

Ogumoro completed business administration at St. Mary’s College of California in May 2006.

She then replaced Sgt. Thomas A. Blas Jr., who served as DPS acting public information officer for many months.
