The Committee to Elect Juan Nekai Babauta for Governor and Galvin Sablan Deleon Guerrero for Lieutenant Governor held a roadside cleanup along Beach Road on the morning of Saturday, April 18.

The candidates themselves got their hands dirty and led the cleanup, which was held as an extension of the islandwide cleanup held the day before. The committee decided to hold the cleanup on a Saturday as many of the committee’s members could not get off work the day before.

According to the chairman of the committee, Ed Guerrero, the cleanup was a success.

“We had about a hundred supporters, young and old, show up on a Saturday morning. We appreciate their help and commitment to cleaning up our island,” he said. “We want to do our part for community service.”

The committee to elect plans to hold similar community service projects in the future.

The cleanup ended with an impromptu waving just south of the San Jose Microl intersection. (PR)
