PTI’S call center division presents expansion plans
PTI Services Inc., the communications company that pioneered the call center business in the CNMI, presented its expansion plans during a public hearing yesterday at the Multi-Purpose Center in Susupe.
Two representatives, executive vice president Larry Knecht and executive director Robert Harrell, led the presentation of the firm’s short-term and long-term goals, seen to create more jobs for local residents.
The public hearing was in connection with the company’s application for a qualifying certificate.
“It was very well presented. It was a statutory requirement. Such presentation is pursuant to law, meaning it was part of an application for the call center business,” said Manny Sablan, Commonwealth Development Authority executive director.
He said PTI had to lay out its business plans in terms of the economic benefits for the CNMI.
Sablan said the public comments generated from yesterday’s public hearing would be considered when CDA decides on the company’s QC application.
Sablan recalled that one of the comments was whether the applicant really needs to establish a call center.
After Knecht and Harrell explained their proposed plans, Sablan said that it is now up to the CDA board to decide whether to accept the application because the details of the expansion plan would have to be discussed yet.
The next move would be for the company to make the presentation to the CDA board.
“The company started the call center business and want to expand and provide better services and hopefully to give more jobs to the local community,’ he said.
