A man who was sentenced in January to five months in prison for fondling himself in front of a female neighbor did not show up at the Department of Corrections to start serving his sentence.

Police arrested Jake Atalig Palacios in Kagman II on Wednesday for contempt. Bail was set at $1,000 cash.

Superior Court associate judge Ramona V. Manglona remanded yesterday the 22-year-old Palacios to DOC to start serving the balance of his sentence in the previous conviction.

Detective Buddy Igitol stated in his report that Palacios was first arrested on Aug. 27, 2010, and charged with indecent exposure and disturbing the peace.

Palacios pleaded guilty to both charges and was sentenced to six months in prison, all suspended except for five months, with credit for the 18 days he had already served in jail. He was ordered to start serving his sentence on May 4 2011, with a release date of Sept. 16, 2011.

Igitol said that, on May 20, he learned that a DOC official had informed chief prosecutor Michael Ernest that Palacios did not show up at DOC to serve his sentence.
